Chocolate cake

 Recipe for a chocolate cake

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

Optional: chocolate chips or chopped chocolate for added richness

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix on medium speed until well combined.

Reduce the speed to low and carefully add the boiling water to the batter. Mix until the batter is smooth and well incorporated.

If desired, fold in a handful of chocolate chips or chopped chocolate for added richness.

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans, smoothing the tops with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Once cooled, you can frost the cake with chocolate buttercream frosting or ganache for an extra indulgent treat.

Remember, you can always customize your chocolate cake by adding fillings or frostings of your choice, such as raspberry filling, cream cheese frosting, or whipped cream. Enjoy your delicious homemade chocolate cake!
