Fish fry Recipe

Fish fry is a popular dish enjoyed in many parts of the world. Here's a recipe to make a delicious and crispy fish fry:

Ingredients:

500 grams fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or catfish)

1 teaspoon red chili powder

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Salt to taste

Oil for shallow frying

For the Coating:

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup cornmeal or breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon paprika (optional, for added flavor)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Salt to taste

Water, as needed, to make a thick batter

Instructions:

Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.

In a bowl, combine red chili powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, and salt to form a marinade.

Rub the marinade onto the fish fillets, ensuring they are well coated. Allow the fish to marinate for at least 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.

In a shallow dish, combine all-purpose flour, cornmeal or breadcrumbs, paprika (if using), black pepper, and salt to make the coating mixture.

Add water gradually to the coating mixture, stirring well, until you achieve a thick batter consistency. The batter should coat the fish evenly.

Heat oil in a frying pan or skillet over medium heat for shallow frying.

Dip each marinated fish fillet into the batter, ensuring it is well coated on all sides.

Carefully place the coated fish fillets in the hot oil, one at a time. Fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides. This may take around 3-4 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the fillets.

Once the fish is cooked and crispy, remove it from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

Repeat the process with the remaining fish fillets, frying them in batches if necessary.

Serve the fish fry hot as a main course or appetizer. It can be enjoyed on its own or served with a side of tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or a fresh salad.

Fish fry is best enjoyed when served immediately, as it retains its crispiness. The marinade and coating mixture add flavor and texture to the fish, creating a mouthwatering dish. Adjust the level of spice according to your preference and enjoy this tasty fish fry recipe!
