Types of Shrimp:

There are various species of shrimp, and they come in different sizes and colors.

Common types of shrimp include white shrimp, brown shrimp, pink shrimp, and tiger shrimp.

Shrimp can be found fresh, frozen, or canned, depending on availability and preference.

Preparing Shrimp:

If using frozen shrimp, thaw them before cooking by placing them in the refrigerator overnight or running them under cold water.

To remove the shell, gently peel it off starting from the legs and working towards the tail. Leave the tail intact if desired for presentation.

To devein shrimp, make a shallow cut along the back of the shrimp and remove the dark vein with a knife or deveining tool.

Cooking Shrimp:

Boiling:

Add shrimp to a pot of boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.

Sautéing:

Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.

Grilling:

Thread shrimp onto skewers and grill over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until they are cooked and slightly charred.

Baking:

Toss shrimp with seasoning and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 8-10 minutes until they are pink and cooked through.
